Fans Relive the Emo Era at Playback Music Festival 2026 Cebu

Playback Music Festival delivered a night of pure nostalgia and high-energy emotion, gathering fans for a collective celebration of pop punk, emo, and alternative rock. From the moment the lights went down, the crowd traveled back to the era of Warped Tour anthems and heartbreak songs, with every set evolving into one massive sing-along.

Faber Drive ignited the evening with explosive energy, instantly winning over the room with a setlist built on fan favorites like “Time Bomb,” “Second Chance,” and “Life Is Waiting.” Their performance balanced feel-good hooks with emotional throwbacks, keeping the audience locked in as they powered through hits like “Candy Store,” “Tongue Tied,” and the soaring “When I’m With You.” The crowd remained vocal throughout, matching the band’s intensity from the first chord of “24 Story Love Affair” to the final notes of “Sleepless Nights.”

The atmosphere shifted into heavier territory when The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus took the stage. They delivered a passionate, intense performance that leaned into the raw spirit of the mid-2000s, featuring tracks like “False Pretense,” “Damn Regret,” and “Cat and Mouse.” The energy in the venue reached a fever pitch during “Your Guardian Angel,” but the definitive highlight came when the audience erupted for the iconic “Face Down.” It served as a visceral emotional release, filling the space with raised hands and a deafening chorus of voices.

To close the festival, Dashboard Confessional transformed the venue into a space that felt both intimate and massive. Fans poured their hearts into every lyric of “The Best Deceptions,” “Saints and Sailors,” and “Stolen.” Chris Carrabba’s presence anchored a setlist that spanned the band’s career, moving from the quiet ache of “The Swiss Army Romance” to the cinematic surge of “Vindicated.” Hearing the entire crowd unite for the closing refrain of “Hands Down” stood as the most unforgettable moment of the night.

The festival served as a vibrant celebration of the music that defined a generation, proving these songs carry the same power and connection today as they did decades ago.
